There is a sweet intuition in watching brothers playing or sisters singing together. Some of that familial DNA seems to weave its way through the verses, the octave changes and the rhythm shifts. When my sister and I sing together, it’s like singing with myself but in stereo. Watching Colorado Springs’ Conor and Ian Bourgal of The Changing Colors play together, it’s as if one person splintered into two – a river of fraternal goodness.

Since they first appeared on our cover three years ago, the Haunted Windchimes have gone through a few changes. Co-founded by Pueblo siblings Inaiah and Chela Lujan and Colorado Springs ex-pat Desirae Garcia, the group has gone on to expand its sound and lineup with the addition of like-minded musicians Mike Clark and Sean Fanning.

"Funeral Pop" is again available in digital form. This Deluxe Edition includes unreleased tracks along side the original 7 songs that is "Funeral Pop." Originally released in May of 2008, The Westword called it, "...a manic, gothic quality strangely reminiscent of Frank Black if he got really into the blues and joined a haunted circus. " Featuring the voices of The Haunted Windchimes combined with the poetry and songwriting of their brother Ravi Trujillo.

Haunted Windchimes voted Best Americana Group for the 1st annual Indy Music Awards!



And the first Indy Music Awards go to...

Congratulate them now, then get ready to hear them play at our September festival!

It's been just over a month since the last ballot was cast in our inaugural 2011 Indy Music Awards. The turnout, more than 2,500 voters, went well beyond anything we'd allowed ourselves to expect, and clearly bodes well for what we anticipate will become a valuable addition to the Colorado Springs music scene
