JOE JOHNSON: Back in the Studio

Blank Taper Joe Johnson is back in the studio at the newly formed "Goat Hill Pickin' Parlor," run by Haunted Windchimes' bassist Sean Fanning. These sessions have already seen a fair share of Southern-Colorado talent; Sean Fanning and Inaiah Lujan (The Haunted Windchimes), Josh DeSmidt (Broken Spoke), Jason Gilmore (J.Miller Band, Creating a Newsense) and introducing fiddle extraordinaire Jacob Klock. These artists and more have already laid down tracks for Joe Johnson's follow-up album, working title: "Jericho."

THE GHOST OF MICHAEL CLARK CD RELEASE SHOW EXTRAVAGANZA!

Friday, October 28th, 8 pm. S.P.Q.R. $5-7 suggested donation. The Ghost of Michael Clark CD Release Show and Art Extravaganza.

Local musician Michael Clark (most recently of Youtube-bike-riding-fame) is releasing his much awaited new album, “Bound to Break,” at S.P.Q.R. on Friday, October 28th. Clark will be joined with special musical guest opener Brad Hoshaw, who hails from Omaha, Nebraska. Noel Anderson Black will also grace the gallery’s small stage with a reading of poetry from his new book.

But wait, you ask, where’s the Extravaganza you speak of? Well, we’ll tell you! Michael Clark, in a stroke of genius, asked eight artists to create works based on some of the songs on the new album, and those pieces will be on display the night of the show. Artists include Aaron Fanning, Heather Leech, Holly Garlow, Streeter Wright, Matt Barton, Jonas McCluggage, Mike Clark, and Kevin Ihle. Art! Music! Art based on music! Who could ask for anything more? Please join us for this amazing event!
